Disaster in life never knocks before the appearance, but impact drastically to the society in various ways. Thus to aware the people about the disaster, the workshop based on management of the tragically conditions, i.e. disaster management is need to be arrange and organize. As the activity under Student Welfare Department , Savitribai Phule Pune University, Our college has organized two days workshop on disaster management at our college campus for the students on dated 05/02/2017 to 06/02/2017 .
The workshop includes the Sessions of the speeches of various expertise from the field of Disaster Management .The workshop also includes the demonstration on disaster management
The first session was started by inaugural function, In which we have guest on Dias our honorable Principal Dr. S. B. Thakare, all the HOD’S from all the departments and Students Welfare officer of our college and The Deputy Chief Fire Officer Mr. Sunil Gilbile from Fire Brigade Pune, was the chairperson and speaker. Mr. Gilbile , shares his valuable experience in the field of disaster management. He told about the techniques of fire fighting. He explains about the present scenario of the scarcity of workers for the fire brigade team. He also tells that Pune Municipal Corporation has a provision to appoint the students as volunteers. He also enlightened the hidden points about awareness of the society about disaster management.
After his speech, the schedule for demonstration was executed in the premises of APCOER . This activity includes the different techniques of fire fighting, accidental emergency. On the second session, we had the guest Mr. Vitthal Banote from Disaster Management Cell, Collector Office Pune. Mr. Banote explains the various case study of the project which are undertaken by govt. in the area of disaster management. He discussed about the Malin, Pune, incident of landslide, and the problems of managing the normal life. The actual problems faced by the people of Malin Village in the landslide incident. Also he discussed how he and his team manage to relocate the affected people in safe areas.
On the third session we have the guest of honor Mr. Milind Vaidya , Project Director , Disaster Management Cell, All India Institute of Local Self Govt. He basically focus on the work carried out by the NGO's in the field of disaster management He has discussed the Gujarat earthquake incident he said about skills required in disaster management. He discussed about manmade disaster. He said to spread the awareness about rules of transportation, fire brigade, etc.
On the fourth session we have the guest of honor Mr. S. J. Yadav , Asst. Prof. , Anantrao Pawar College Of Engineering . He explains about the crises management in real life. He also shows the documentary on human control management.
This workshop was organize by Student Welfare Department of our college , The efforts for arranging the workshop is taken by following faculties Prof. G. E. Kondhalkar Student Welfare Officer , APCOER. Prof K .D. Thanekar, Prof R. B. Diwate and Prof. S.S. Jagtap Co-coordinator. , the anchoring is done by Miss Lubhna Saiyyada.
